Tom Brady - New England Patriots

Sunday, August 16th, 2009
Chuck Berkley asked:
___________________________________________________________________

He can win Super Bowls, post big numbers and sell your product, whatever, the greatest QB of this generation. Now, do not get me wrong I think Tom Brady is a great QB. He is cool in the pocket, he has a speedy manner and he can make any throw on the field. How often do you see Brady running for his life? How often do you see Brady put in terrible field position? Brady has been blessed with not only a fantastic line, but also a great defense, superb coaching and front office. He is great, but do not crown him just yet. Throughout the entire ’07 season, a mastery of the offense and basic knowledge dropping back had allowed Brady to simply step up whenever his pocket would collapse. However, against the Giants, Brady stepped up into the congested middle. There’s your pattern. I **** this debate and to diverge from the title, but you always have the guy that says “well Marino was a great QB”…true, but he did not have any rings. So by that justification Trent Dilfer with his Super Bowl was better than Marino? Certainly not!! So how do you rank the greatest QB’s of all time? I do not believe you count the rings and crown the winner. There are twenty one other starters on that team and for the guys with a lot of rings they were all surrounded with Hall of Fame players. I love Troy Aikman but, I could name ten other quarterbacks I could stick on those Cowboy teams of the 90’s and they could have won three Championships. The thing could be said for Terry Bradshaw and even Joe Montana. So, Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks of all time and he does have three rings, but, if we put Payton Manning on those same Patriot teams, I would guess he could have three Championships too or not? Hmm ok, let’s compare if Peyton Manning is better than Tom Brady. Yes, Brady’s indestructibility and Manning’s exposure in big games have evaporated. Let’s not allow this to cloud the bigger picture. Brady leads Manning 3-1 in Super Bowls. For people who truly believe that football is all about winning (you’d be surprised how few people are really like this) the debate ends here. For swaggering armchair quarterbacks who marvel at Manning’s command of the Indy offense, understand that Brady has essentially the same power in New England. He just doesn’t use it on every down. What’s more, up until last year, Brady had been doing more with less. Aside from Corey Dillon in ’05, Brady never had a leading rushing attack behind him. He didn’t have two superstar receivers like Reggie Wayne or Marvin Harrison to throw to. Once Brady did get those weapons, he destroyed the record books. This, by the way, pulled the plug on the argument made by all the fantasy geeks who, for years, have chattered about how Brady’s numbers are undersized by Manning’s.

Unsecured Personal Loan: the Best Supporter in Need

Sunday, August 16th, 2009
Simon Peyton asked:

A loan is essential for dealing with the day to day or the other sudden huge financial crisis. But unlike the past days, you will now at least have a sponsor to help you out for your every need. Based on your needs and demands these loans have been designed so that they could meet your particular criteria easily. The unsecured personal loans are one such loan which cares a lot for you and your comfort.

For receiving an unsecured personal loan you will not have to keep anything as collateral. Here the lender will take all the risks making you stay happy and risk free. Thus you will not feel burdened and will also get to enjoy the debt duration. You will also not have to loose anything even if you fail to repay the loan amount in the given time period. You can enjoy spending this money in your several types of requirements like in the arrangement of your wedding, for going on a holiday tour, for repairing home or modifying your car, for paying installments or paying off debts and manly more.
___________________________________________________________________

Unsecured personal loans provide an amount of £1,000 to £25,000 and this amount will have to be paid back within 1 to 10 years. The rate of interest in these loans is a bit higher but that is not at all an issue if you are ready to find out an appropriate loan for you. The loan market today is full with several lenders who will try to provide you the best possible deal. You will thus get to choose a loan with lower interest rate too.

The best thing about the unsecured personal loans is that these loans are approved faster. There is not need of property evaluation. Only you will have to provide information about you like your name, permanent address, income details and bank account details to get approved for the loan.

2009 Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Football Preview

Saturday, August 15th, 2009
Chris Limburg asked:

The year 2008 is a year in which the Jacksonville Jaguars would simply like to forget.  The team finished with a disappointing 5-11 record after losing in the Divisional Playoffs in 2007 at the hands of the New England Patriots.   What went wrong?  Maybe a better question is what didn’t go wrong?  For starters, the offensive line was in complete shambles due to various injuries and the misery climaxed with the shooting of Richard Collier who was left paralyzed from the waist down as a result.  The end result was the Jags were left unable to do what they really want to do and that is to pound the rock on the ground with their Mighty Mite Maurice Jones Drew.  The offensive line was clearly one of the main reasons that the Jags didn’t perform up to expectations.  Furthermore, Jacksonville’s WR corps (past and present I might add) was more concerned with blasting lines of Coke than catching TD’s and this also contributed to the teams decline.  However, in my estimation things are looking much better for Jacksonville heading into ‘09 with the addition of tackles Eugene Monroe and Eben Britton via the draft last month.  With that being said lets analyze the fantasy prospects for the Jaguars this season.

Jacksonville is committed to QB David Garrard and it seems as though as he is returning the favor.  I recently saw an interview of Garrard and I could not believe it.  He has dropped over 30 lbs and looks outstanding.  During the interview he mentioned that he is ready to take his career to the next level and to become more of a team leader.  This is good news for Jag fans as I truly think Garrard can be the answer for this team if they protect him and provide him with some weapons.  Not a lot just some because last year he had none.  However, this article is from a fantasy perspective and in terms of a fantasy QB Garrard is no more than a nice number 2 QB.  The Jags have never been a passing team and the drafting of Britton and Monroe tells me that the team is not looking to become one anytime soon.  This is clearly Jones-Drew’s team and the offense is being built around him in a big way.  Garrard is simply a game manager who is going to be handing the ball off to MJD constantly. On draft day this summer treat him as such and look at other options when choosing your starting QB for the season.  Take a flier on Garrard as your backup starting around round 12 but nothing much more than that.

I am a huge fan of MJD and this year with the release of Fred Taylor he is finally the man in Jacksonville.  Jones-Drew has been a TD machine since coming into the NFL in 2006 amassing a total of 38 TD’s during that span.  MJD’s yardage has historically been down but that can be directly attributed to Taylor’s presence.  Head Coach Jack Del Rio has stated publicly that the reason the team released Taylor was to get Jones-Drew on the field more often.  Don’t let Greg Jones or rookie Rashad Jennings scare you in the least bit.  This is Jones-Drew’s team and I am expecting a career year out of him this season to the tune of around 1200-1400 yds and between 10-15 total TD’s.  Treat him as a Top 5 overall selection in all draft formats this summer.  If you are fortunate to land MJD in the first round be sure to handcuff him with Jennings later in the draft for insurance.

This will prove to be a short paragraph as we are talking about the Jags receiving corps in terms of fantasy potential.  Gone are the Cocaine Cowboys Matt Jones and Reggie Williams (don’t forget about Jimmy Smith either) as well as bust Jerry Porter and in their place come Torry Holt and a bunch of rookies. Although Holt is a marked improvement over the previous jokers he has lost a step and also realize that the last time Holt posted a 100 yard receiving game outdoors was the first week of the 2005 season. Where do the Jags play?  Outdoors.  Holt will clearly be the number 1 option in Jacksonville but what does that mean when half the offense if not more will run through Jones-Drew?  Initially, I treat Holt as a number 3 WR or possibly a Flex player worth a late round pick but someone who recognizes Holt’s name will probably draft him sooner without doing any sort of research or leg work.  Well, I am doing the research for you so I am saying DON’T LET THAT PERSON BE YOU!!  As for all the other Jags WR’s it is real simple:  Troy Williamson, Dennis Northcut  nor any of the rookies are draftable at this point in time.  Moreover, although improving TE Marcedes Lewis represents another Jag who does not warrant a selection on draft day come August.

Historically, one of the better fantasy options when referring to the Jags has been their DST.  For years the middle had been anchored down by big John Henderson and Marcus Stroud.  Well, Stroud is gone to Buffalo and Henderson is not getting any younger and all in the entire Jags defense has regressed a bit from their heyday back in the early 2000’s.  They are still not a bad unit and the team will try to get much more out of former Gator Derrick Harvey whom the team selected with the 8th overall pick in the 2008 draft.  Furthermore, the team’s improved offensive line will go a long way towards achieving a ball control offense and thus allowing the defense plenty of time to rest.  I view the Jags DST as a low end number 1 fantasy unit.  Josh Scobee is an accurate, strong legged kicker and is also a viable number 1 fantasy option.

In summary, look for the Jaguars to rebound as a team and make a strong run towards the playoffs.  This run will be thanks in large part to a vastly improved OL that will pave the way for the running and receiving of MJD.  Other than Jones-Drew, and maybe Holt, don’t expect much from the position players of the Jags this year. Next up: The Indianapolis Colts.

Playing Chess for Money

Thursday, August 13th, 2009
Peyton Andrews asked:

Online casino’s, poker rooms, bookmakers, lottery & bingo sites are nothing new. However to my knowledge one of the oldest and most famous past-times has never been contested over the world wide web for money. What am I talking about?

Chess.

It launched at the end of June 2008 and its called ultimatecheckmate.com. Its tagline is “the future of competitive chess”.

Now chess tournaments to win cash prizes are nothing new and neither is playing for money threw correspondence chess but playing live chess for money over the internet as far as I’m aware has never been done before.

Could it be the future?

Poker became a global phenomenon in the last decade. Now there’s countless hours of TV devoted to it. Cable and Network programming. Its big business and intoxicating viewing.

Players are becoming celebrities and poker is no longer “that” game played in dimly lit smoked filled basements.

Poker is without a doubt the king of the mountain with Texas hold’em the crown jewels but one could argue that chess is the far superior game. You see poker isn’t just about skill, there’s the luck factor and to not sound like a bitter loser it doesn’t matter how good you are at poker, how many books you’ve read, how many hours you’ve put in or if you do everything right you still cant beat lady luck should she decide to rear her ugly head.

Chess however is pure skill. The best man (or woman) will always win and that’s how it should be.

If I played Roger Federer at tennis I’d get destroyed. I’d be lucky to get a single point off him. If I played a top chess grandmaster I’d get annihilated without my opponent even breaking a sweat but if I or anyone of the street played the top ranked poker player in the world I could beat them, they wouldn’t even be much of a favourite, all because of the luck factor.

Chess should be top of the mountain. it’s the vastly superior game and the ultimate battle of wits.

Playing for money isn’t technically gambling either as the definition of gambling is to play a game of chance and there is no chance in chess.

The question I have is this: Is playing chess for cash right or wrong? Does it add some spice to the battle or does it demean the spirit of the game? Should we leave the dollars, pounds and Euro’s out of it and just play for pride?

If your familiar with sky bet you’ll know there motto is “it matters more when there’s money on it!”.

I agree. I have a competitive nature but bragging rites is not enough for me. I say not that it matters more if there’s money on it but if there’s no money on it, who really cares. If there’s nothing to lose then what have you really gained.

The difference between winning and losing should mean something to you and if it doesn’t then why are you even playing in the first place. If you need some incentive to get you into that mindset put a big hand-full of your hard earned cash on it. Make things interesting.

There’s a line it fight club that goes “your never alive like you are in fight club”. I say your never alive like you are in a casino, or at the races, or playing poker or playing chess for cash.

You want to feel a rollercoaster of emotions? Withdraw a months wages and take it down a casino. Put two weeks pay on red at the roulette table and watch the dealer spin that ball. You’ll never be wider awake, you’ll never be more alive. You’ll be able to feel your heart pumping through your chest and your senses heightened. Either way a tidal wave of emotion is coming your way. The elation of winning or the despair of defeat. That’s emotion. that’s living in the moment . that’s being alive. It’s a drug but the effects are not synthetic, this is real.

Win and you’re a hero, lose and you’re a failure, an idiot, an addict. You’ll be worshipped or spat on over something you really had no control over.

Gambling addicts who sit around in group therapy, are they addicts or are they just the one’s who lost. Just think if the dice had turned the other way they’d be sitting on a tropical island. People wouldn’t be looking down on them then would they. Notice you don’t ever see a gamblers anonymous meeting filled with men and women in flashy designer clothes and expensive jewellery. You’ve only got a problem if you lost.

But of course playing chess for money is something completely different as its about skill though it can invoke the same genuine emotions and this time the difference between winning and losing is 100% in your hands. You can work on your game, become a student of the sport. To hell with lady luck, chess rewards talent and ability, something that can be nurtured.

Once you think your ready you’ll need to test yourself, see how good you really are and there’s only one way and currently one place to do it.

Playing for the sake of playing is one thing but lets see how good you are when you’ve put your own money on the line. That’s what will separate the men from the boys.

Should we compete for money or does it devalue the game. I think it adds to the challenge and I’ve never been more excited about chess then since I’ve started competing for money but I can understand why others think its morally wrong and a cancer to the game they love. I’ve posted this question on chessforums.org and would love to hear other’s points of view.

If you fancy a game of chess meet me on Ultimate Checkmate. My username is BVBVBV. They’ll have to be some money on it though. Now I’ve played for cash not playing for money just seems meaningless.

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009
Joseph Feross asked:

The city of Indianapolis is located in the heart of Indiana. Did you also know that Indianapolis is the 12th largest city in the United States? Did you also know that Indianapolis has more than 20 million visitors each year? This city has also been rated as one of the nation’s best places for real estate, purchasing homes and costs of living. The Indianapolis real estate market is a great value for anyone looking to come here and make it their new home.

The Indianapolis real estate market is also attractive to sports fans that come here. It is now the home of the 2007 Super Bowl Champ Indianapolis Colts and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Speedway is famous for hosting the Indianapolis 500, the Brickyard 400, and the Formula One race. If you like racing, then Indianapolis is the place to be. In 2003, it was also honored at the #1 Pro Sports City in the United States. The National Collegiate Athletic Association has its headquarters here.

There are two different cities inside of Indianapolis along with one town. Indianapolis is located in Marion County. The Greater Indianapolis Metropolitan area includes the City of Beech Grove and the City of Lawrence. There is also the Town of Speedway. Having all of these in one setting helps the Indianapolis real estate market to be diverse and have limitless opportunities.

In 1906, Beech Grove was incorporated into the state of Indiana. It is located in the southeast part of Marion County. Even though there are a few large businesses in Beech Grove, for the most part it is a residential community. Within the Indianapolis real estate market, in the Beech Grove area, there are currently many homes available for sale.

The 16th largest city in Indiana is the City of Lawrence. The City of Lawrence is home lots of businesses that include coffee shops, gyms and Christian retail stores. It is comprised of a small town feel with all of the city conveniences. If you are looking at Indianapolis real estate and you think that Lawrence might be good for you, there are realtors available to assist you with your real estate interests.

Although Speedway sits within Indianapolis, it has a separate government that includes the police department, schools, public library, parks, and fire department. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is just six miles away from downtown Indianapolis. This close proximity helps to make the local Indianapolis real estate more valuable.

Doing an online search will show a lot of prices for homes in all three areas. The starting price was around $69,900 and up. This depended on the location and the type of home it was. If you are a big racing fan or you just want to convenience of living in a small town with big city conveniences, the Indianapolis real estate market can be for you and your family.

Personal Loans: Big or Small, Any Problem Can be Solved

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009
Simon Peyton asked:

Money makes man laugh and money makes man cry. In other words, presence of money is must. In such a condition the loans always plays an indispensable role. Whenever you feel that you need money for your personal purposes, you can always approach loans. Personal loans are one among such loans which can offer you a great deal of money in your need.

Personal loans generally are of two forms-secured and unsecured. You should not blindly go for any of these loans as the terms and conditions of these loans along with the money offered are different from each other. In secured personal loans you will get a bigger amount ranging from £5,000 to £75,000 for 5 to 25 years. The rate of interest is lower and the repayment term is longer in these loans. But for getting all these you must place collateral.

Unsecured personal loans can be said to be the opposite of the secured loans where no collateral is required. The rate of interest too is higher and the repayment term is shorter. Maximum amount offered in these loans is £25,000 and the repayment duration is 1 to 10 years. Therefore, it is up to you as to which loan form you should opt.

Bad credit holders can get good money for improving their credit score through the personal loans. Late payment, skipping of installments, arrears, CCJs, bankruptcy anything will be accepted and your way is open for these loans.

Online loan market is too vast and you can utilize this service in getting the personal loans fast. The online loans are fast in the sense that there is no delay in the procedures. As soon as you fill a free online form with lender of your choice not much formalities are left.

Personal loans are therefore, liked by the borrowers as it is a loan made for all. These loans are flexible and affordable by all. You can get several lenders providing suitable personal loans deals in the loan market. It’s up to you to find out appropriate personal loans. In fact, doing so is not at all tough.
